How to treat.
Labels on cashmere, wool, and chunky sweaters, like Miley’s, may read dry-clean only, but you can care for them at home. Hand-washing is the best way: Use a detergent formulated for knits- Typically one with a low-suds formula. Pour a teaspoon of the wash into a gallon of cool water; let garment soak for 15 minutes, then rinse. To dry lay it flat on a rack to ensure the sweater keeps its shape. Once dry, if plagued by pilling, use a sweater stone to renew your garment’s finish.
A knit ash so gentle, it requires no rinsing: Soak scentless wash.
