Our first featured blogger is Kelly Ornstein from Base Coat Top Coat, a freelance nail artist/ designer. I approached Kelly about participating when I came across several of her original nail art designs online and was blown away by her talent. I knew if she participated in our challenge, she would come up with some amazing designs with our Soakboxes. To our delight, Kelly agreed and we were not disappointed! Here are the designs she came up with for the Denyse Schmidt curated nail polish Soakbox.
The first design is her unique creation which she entitled “I Luh My Poppies” (love the JLo reference). Kelly used the colours provided in the Denyse Schmidt Soakbox to create a floral poppy design. The base was done using hot opera, the flower petals use mushroom and faded glamour, the inside uses deep chocolate. We love the creativity and can’t wait to try it out!
The second design Kelly created was inspired by Denyse Schmidt’s Between the Lines quilt pattern. Kelly appropriately entitled this design “Between the Lines“. This design is fantastic and for the more skilled nail artist. The poppies from the her unique design also makes an appearance here. Kelly provides a step-by-step tutorial on how to achieve this design and we encourage everyone to try it out!
