We are so excited to announce our second installment of our Photo-A-Day Challenge for October! September’s knitting challenge outcome blew us away and we are so appreciative of all of the participants who posted their beautiful knitting photos all month. We had over 400 participants on Instagram and almost 8000 hashtags used for the duration of the knitting challenge! Thanks again to everyone who made our first photo challenge such a success, it would not have been the same without everyone’s participation and enthusiasm.
As for the next challenge, we learned from our first time around and there are a few changes to take notice of. Firstly, follow our @soakwash account on Instagram to see our own daily posts of photos as per the suggested content of the challenge. Unfortunately, if you are a private account, even if you tag or hashtag the photo, we are unable to view them! We have set up a rafflecopter giveaway at the bottom of this post for the private accounts who would like to participate. Just enter using the required info, and if you share to twitter and tag us in a tweet, we are then able to see your posts.
This is called a quilter’s photo challenge, but if you aren’t a quilter, still feel free to post sewing themed photos instead. The prompts are there for you to use as inspiration, and a word may mean something different to different people. Using your own creativity, post your photos and hashtag #soakphotochallenge and #flatterbysoak so we can follow along with your progress. For example, on day 1 October 1st post a fun photo of your thread collection, and then on day 2 October 2nd post a photo of your favorite cutting tool, whether it be your sharpest pair of scissors or rotary cutter. Post as many times or as little as you want. The photo-a-day challenge is meant to push yourself to post different kinds of photos and compare it to how others meet the challenge in their own way. At the end of the month, we will randomly select participants of the challenge and contact them on Instagram to win some Soak and Flatter goodies! So be sure to tag us in your posts and invite friends to participate too! If you have any questions or suggestions for future challenges, feel free to contact Dani, our resident Gossip Girl.
Our other social media hashtags are #soakworthy #soakwash #soakboxes and #handmaidbysoak. If you want us to see your posts including Soak, be sure to tag us or include our hashtags. We can’t wait to see what everyone comes up with for this challenge! The bar has been set high over the last month by the knitters and we’re sure all of the sewists are ready to post their own soakworthy photos. Good luck and have fun!
